Senior Software Engineer

About the role

ETAP’s R&D team is seeking a proactive Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Windows desktop applications that support innovative electrical system solutions. The role is based in Irvine, CA and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge energy‑management software within a collaborative, solution‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Windows desktop applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance and support software features.
• Implement database‑driven solutions focusing on performance and reliability.
• Contribute to code quality, performance improvements, and development processes.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in Windows desktop software development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Required skills

• C++ and C# development using Visual Studio.
• ODBC, SQL Server, LocalDB, and SQL scripting including stored procedures.
• Parallel programming, multithreading, and STL.
• Object‑oriented design and deep knowledge of Windows architecture.
• Experience with MFC, WPF, XAML, GDI, Direct2D (D2D) graphics.
• Python scripting and automated testing frameworks.
• WIX and WixSharp for installer development.
• Jira administration.
