Senior Software Engineer – Electrical State Estimation

About the role

ETAP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Irvine team, focusing on state estimation and virtual metering for complex electrical networks. The role involves enhancing existing software engines, building RESTful services, and ensuring cybersecurity compliance within a unified electrical digital twin platform.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain system engines used for electrical state estimation.
• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs for internal and cloud‑based applications.
• Collaborate with real‑time software engineers to improve existing web applications.
• Support enhancements and updates to real‑time data acquisition, visualization, storage, and analysis tools.
• Ensure all software components meet cybersecurity and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience developing software for electrical systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of linear algebra.
