Senior Payroll Operations Analyst

About the role

Midi Health is seeking a Senior Payroll Operations Analyst to own end‑to‑end biweekly payroll execution for all company entities. The role serves as the primary processor and systems administrator, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll across multi‑state jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute biweekly payroll runs, including on‑cycle and off‑cycle processing, and validate inputs such as new hires, terminations, bonuses, retroactive adjustments, and one‑time payments.
• Manage exceptions, manual overrides, and system computations while maintaining documented audit trails.
• Validate paycheck‑level tax calculations across multiple states, monitor withholding accounts, and process garnishments, levies, and involuntary deductions.
• Support quarterly and year‑end tax reconciliation, filing validation, and maintain a compliance tracker for tax jurisdictions.
• Process equity transactions, ensure correct supplemental withholding, and maintain audit logs for equity‑to‑payroll reconciliation.
• Administer payroll system settings, workflow automations, and configuration setups; identify errors and recommend improvements.
• Build ad‑hoc reports for Finance, People Operations, and Legal, and track accuracy and efficiency metrics against KPIs.
• Maintain payroll master data, configuration logs, and period‑over‑period audit trails.

Required profile

• Data‑driven practitioner with a strong focus on precision, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with HR, Finance, People Operations, and Legal teams.
• Ability to manage complex payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions and entities.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail throughout the payroll cycle.
