Senior IRB Administrator

About the role

The Senior IRB Administrator supports the Research Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This position ensures that all human subjects research complies with federal, state, and institutional regulations while facilitating efficient review processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the IRB, including submission intake, review scheduling, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with 45 CFR 46, FDA regulations, and UAMS policies.
• Coordinate communication between investigators, reviewers, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain accurate records, meeting minutes, and audit trails.
• Provide training and guidance to researchers on IRB procedures and ethical standards.
• Assist in policy development and continuous improvement of IRB workflows.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in IRB administration or research compliance.
• Strong knowledge of human subjects protection regulations and guidelines.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with investigators, faculty, and staff.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
