Senior Information Security Specialist

About the role

The Senior Information Security Specialist will design, implement and maintain security standards, policies and procedures to protect Santander’s systems, networks and data. This position provides tactical security guidance, evaluates emerging technologies and ensures controls are in place to safeguard critical infrastructure across a global financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Promote security awareness through training, communications and engagement initiatives.
• Develop, enhance and enforce information security policies, standards and procedures aligned with industry frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Support Business‑As‑Usual security operations with global teams, ensuring consistent execution of controls.
• Perform independent risk assessments on internal systems and third‑party platforms, covering information security, business continuity and compliance.
• Identify control gaps, recommend remediation actions and track their implementation.
• Provide evidence and documentation for internal and external audits and assist in remediation of findings.
• Monitor security measures, respond to incidents, breaches, vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
• Generate reports, dashboards and metrics to track risk posture and control effectiveness.
• Support IAM operations, including provisioning, deprovisioning, role management and access reviews.
• Assist with privileged access management processes and monitor privileged accounts.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in information security within a large, regulated organization.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and support audit activities.
• Experience working with global teams and aligning security practices with enterprise strategies.
• Strong understanding of IAM and PAM processes.
