Senior Global Tax Planning Advisor

About the role

The Senior Global Tax Planning Advisor joins Cardinal Health's Finance organization within the Tax Planning & Controversy department. Reporting to the Manager of Global Tax Planning & M&A, the role supports the design, execution, and communication of global tax strategies, evaluates tax implications of business restructurings, and assists with merger and acquisition activities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive analysis and implementation of global tax planning initiatives.
• Research and interpret U.S. and non‑U.S. tax laws, regulations, and treaties, and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Prepare tax analyses, including cost‑benefit assessments and pros/cons evaluations.
• Develop step‑by‑step plans and technical memoranda for tax projects.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Accounting, and business units to implement tax planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with the Tax Provision and Compliance team on transactions affecting tax returns and provisions.
• Support the Tax Controversy team with relevant information from planning initiatives.
• Monitor legislative changes and document impacts on the company’s tax position.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Tax, Accounting, Law, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Significant experience in global tax planning, M&A tax due diligence, and tax provision work.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to travel quarterly to the Dublin, Ohio office.
