Senior Android Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to help shape the Bumble Dating experience. This role is ideal for engineers experienced in building end‑to‑end Android features, owning projects independently, and contributing to architecture and mentoring.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, reliable Bumble app features using GCP services.
• Drive technically complex product features from inception to delivery, owning the full software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to ship new features and improvements.
• Evaluate and apply AI‑based development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Lead architecture discussions and propose solutions for long‑term scalability.
• Support junior engineers through pairing, mentoring, and code reviews.
• Guide engineering standards and best practices to maintain a high‑quality codebase.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping production Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML‑based UI views.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture) in medium‑to‑large codebases.
• Solid understanding of Android fundamentals, threading, performance, and memory management.
• Experience integrating networked APIs, handling errors and offline scenarios.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive mindset.
