Senior Account Manager – Commercial Insurance

About the role

Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance accounts, ensuring client retention and supporting new business opportunities. Coordinate daily administrative and customer service activities, resolve complex issues, and act as a subject‑matter expert for the account management team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high technical competence and industry expertise.
• Direct daily activities and workflow of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations, renewals, and conduct client research for renewal proposals.
• Monitor accounts receivable, collect delinquent balances, and oversee agency management system data accuracy.
• Maintain activity and suspense items to ensure timely completion.
• Communicate regularly with the account team about workload status and issues.
• Deliver proactive, high‑quality service and respond quickly to requests.
• Stay updated on company policies and adopt best practices for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate integrity and leadership in line with IOA values.

Required profile

• 5+ years of account management experience or 7+ years in the insurance industry.
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
• Active insurance licensing; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking and organizational skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
