Safety & Compliance Specialist 3 – Driver Examiner Monitoring Lead

About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking three qualified Safety and Compliance Specialists (Level 3) to lead and monitor driver examiner activities across the state. This grant‑funded position oversees certification requirements for CDL training schools, instructors, state examiners and third‑party testers, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as lead to support and monitor lower‑level Safety and Compliance Specialists.
• Collaborate with DDS teams on CDL‑related initiatives.
• Document compliance issues and issue corrective action plans, emails, and disciplinary letters.
• Audit and monitor CDL‑regulated programs, instructors, and examiners for compliance.
• Interpret and maintain knowledge of state, federal, and CDL regulations.
• Respond to management and customer inquiries professionally.
• Investigate customer complaints and recommend appropriate actions.
• Participate in task teams and workgroups.
• Develop partnerships with internal and external partners.
• Assist with training events, certification classes, and community outreach.
• Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.

Required profile
