RN MedSurg PRN Nights

About the role

Join the team at Palestine Regional Medical Center as a PRN Night Shift Registered Nurse in the Medical‑Surgical unit. You will provide safe, compassionate care to adult patients during the overnight hours in a 150‑bed acute care hospital recognized for safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments to determine patient care needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policy.
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient education accurately and promptly.
• Provide direct care including activities of daily living, hygiene, nutrition, and mobility support.
• Monitor patient conditions, report significant changes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for care coordination and discharge planning.
• Deliver emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Adhere to infection control, fall prevention, and patient safety protocols.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license (or compact state equivalent).
• Minimum 6 months of medical‑surgical nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand or walk for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of pharmacology, medical terminology, and nursing best practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
