Residential Counselor – Live‑in Summer Position

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello is seeking a live‑in Residential Counselor to support first‑year students during the 2026 Summer II Session. This temporary, fixed‑term role combines peer counseling, recreational programming, and academic assistance in a residential hall environment.

Key responsibilities

• Live on‑site in the residence hall for the duration of the summer session.
• Provide peer counseling and emotional support to first‑year students.
• Plan, supervise, and lead recreational and community‑building activities.
• Assist with program activities, complete student evaluation forms, and attend orientation and staff meetings.
• Support classroom instructors and tutor students in evening help rooms.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Students office.

Required profile

• Current full‑time upper‑class undergraduate student in good academic standing.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and staff.
• Prior peer‑counseling or tutoring experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Mature, responsible, and able to handle a live‑in schedule.
