Refrigeration Technician

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join its Campus Operations HVAC and Controls team. This professional staff position supports the maintenance and operation of refrigeration and cooling systems across the medical campus in Little Rock.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose system malfunctions and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with facilities staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of all cooling systems.
• Respond to emergency service calls and provide on‑call support as needed.

Required profile

• Legal authority to work in the United States.
• Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or related mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and campus users.

Required skills

• Knowledge of refrigeration cycle principles.
• Familiarity with HVAC controls and diagnostics.
• Use of hand and power tools for mechanical repairs.
