Receiving Associate

About the role

The Receiving Associate is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading shipments at Rural King stores in Illinois. The role ensures that merchandise is ready for the sales floor, accurately recorded, and properly stored.

Key responsibilities

• Unload and load shipments, unpack merchandise, and prepare items for display.
• Use scan guns and inventory software to process purchase orders and document receipt of goods.
• Monitor purchase order and distribution center shortages, reporting discrepancies daily.
• Maintain accurate receiving paperwork and filing.
• Apply security tags and price labels to apparel according to SOPs.
• Organize products on carts for distribution to the sales floor.
• Assist with store‑to‑store transfers, UPS shipments, and high‑demand inventory management.
• Collaborate with the receiving team to follow company protocols and ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Entry‑level or prior experience in retail receiving or warehouse environments.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Physical ability to lift and move merchandise safely.
