Quality Control Manager

About the role

Unami DNI Joint Ventures LLC seeks an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality assurance activities on a USACE Design/Bid/Build project at JBSA, Fort Sam Houston, TX. This is a three‑to‑four‑month on‑site assignment supporting construction and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering to define specification‑driven quality requirements.
• Communicate consistently with government contracting representatives and end users.
• Establish and convey project quality requirements to the project management team.
• Develop and issue project‑specific quality requirements and an inspection‑test matrix based on codes and jurisdictional rules.
• Coach, train, and mentor field quality managers.
• Identify, document, and track adverse quality conditions through resolution and closure.
• Support corrective‑action processes and review subcontractor quality submittals and inspection plans.
• Assist in preparing project turnover packages and ensure they align with project activities.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with safety and health standards.

Required profile

• 4‑year college degree preferred; concentration in construction management is a plus.
• Proven experience managing US Army Corps of Engineers projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Previous management experience and solid knowledge of construction methods, safety law, and quality control regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive government background investigation.

Required skills

• OSHA 30 certification
• Construction Quality Control Management (CQM) certification
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Knowledge of EM‑385 safety standards
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, reporting tools)
