Physician – Military Entrance Processing Station

About the role

Koniag Professional Services (KPS) is seeking a qualified Physician to support the Albany Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). The role involves reviewing medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and determining applicant eligibility against Department of Defense medical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and document comprehensive health histories from military service applicants.
• Perform physical examinations and assess eligibility based on DoD medical standards.
• Review medical test results, consultation reports, and other documentation.
• Render medical opinions on applicant fitness for military service.
• Maintain electronic medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations (Privacy Act, HIPAA).
• Participate in local MEPS peer reviews and communicate findings to relevant parties.
• Uphold applicant dignity and follow all installation policies.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an LCME or COCA‑accredited school.
• Completion of an ACGME or AOA‑accredited residency, or recent independent patient care (within 3 years).
• Current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
• For foreign‑trained physicians: valid U.S. license and ECFMG certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply accession medical standards.
