Per Diem Receptionist

About the role

Kindred Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Per Diem Receptionist to join our front‑desk team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience in a fast‑paced medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the telephone switchboard, routing incoming, outgoing and inter‑office calls.
• Answer, screen and transfer calls, take accurate messages, and handle pages for doctors and staff.
• Greet visitors, vendors and physicians, provide brief policy information and direct them to appropriate locations.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date list of department extensions and hospital contact numbers.
• Log patient names, room numbers and extensions to expedite call relays.
• Assist with admission paperwork and coordinate with families as needed.
• Follow charge entry and control guidelines to ensure accurate billing.
• Respond to emergency alerts (code blue, fire, etc.) according to protocol.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently in a healthcare setting.
