About the role
We are seeking a hands‑on Payroll Leader to own end‑to‑end payroll operations for the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The role will initially be within 3M and transition to a new joint‑venture after the transaction closes in late 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Execute and support payroll processing for the US and Canada, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate UK payroll operations with local resources and external vendors.
- Serve as primary contact for payroll vendors (e.g., ADP), handling issue resolution and data validation.
- Process complex payroll items such as bonuses, off‑cycle payments, and deferred compensation.
- Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and support SOX control requirements.
- Participate in payroll‑related projects, system testing, and enhancements for Workday and related integrations.
- Monitor evolving payroll regulations, flag risks, and update processes and controls accordingly.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing payroll for large, multi‑jurisdictional organizations.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local payroll regulations in the US, Canada, and the UK.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external payroll vendors and lead cross‑functional initiatives.
- Experience with audit and compliance processes, including SOX controls.
