PACS Support Technician - Imaging

About the role

The PACS Support Technician provides day‑to‑day technical assistance for the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) used in medical imaging at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The role ensures imaging workflows run smoothly, supporting clinicians and radiology staff in delivering patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot PACS hardware and software components.
• Respond to service tickets, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Install updates, patches, and new imaging applications while ensuring system integrity.
• Collaborate with radiology and IT teams to optimize imaging workflows.
• Provide user training and documentation for PACS functionalities.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience supporting medical imaging systems in a clinical environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clinical staff.
