Mid Software Developer

About the role

CGI is looking for an enthusiastic mid‑level software developer to join a high‑performing Agile team that builds modern, services‑based web applications for a large government agency. The role offers the chance to work with a contemporary stack, cloud‑deployment practices, and AI‑paired programming tools in a hybrid environment based in Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and leads to design, develop, and deploy Java‑based web applications.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including technical design, coding, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor fellow team members and share best practices for robust Java, Spring‑Boot, and micro‑services development.
• Utilize AI‑paired programming techniques and continuous integration pipelines to deliver high‑quality software.
• Engage with clients and end‑users to gather requirements and provide technical viewpoints.
• Author automated test scripts and contribute to database access optimization.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 + years of hands‑on experience with core Java and JEE technologies.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, Spring‑Boot, and micro‑services architecture.
• Experience building web applications using HTML, CSS, Angular, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AI‑paired programming tools and continuous integration practices.
• Proven ability to work effectively in an Agile, collaborative environment.
