About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct, hands‑on patient care in a clinical setting, supporting physicians and nursing staff. Working under the supervision of a licensed physician, the MA ensures safe, compassionate, and culturally competent care for patients at UHealth Palm Beach Gardens.
Key responsibilities
- Assist medical providers with multi‑skilled clinical tasks and procedures.
- Deliver hands‑on patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies.
- Recognize and respond to emergencies, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Monitor and help maintain the quality of care, fostering a compassionate healing environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or designated unit/clinic leader to ensure safe delivery of services.
- Document patient interactions and clinical activities accurately according to evidence‑based standards.
Required profile
- Commitment to ethical and legal standards of professional medical practice.
- Ability to work under direct supervision of a licensed physician and follow delegated instructions.
- Culturally competent communication skills, respecting patients' spiritual beliefs and personal preferences.
