About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks an Assistant Professor to join the Department of Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The successful candidate will contribute to clinical care, research, and education in gastroenterology and liver disease.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality patient care in gastroenterology and hepatology clinics and inpatient services.
- Develop and maintain an independent research program, seeking external funding.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, bedside instruction, and mentorship.
- Participate in departmental and institutional service activities, including committees and quality improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, research, and education.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Arkansas.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
