Medical Assistant PRN – Cardiology Clinic

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support its Cardiology Clinic. This temporary, fixed‑term position provides flexible shift coverage and contributes to high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced cardiovascular environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist cardiology physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and documentation.
• Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and ECGs as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, manage supplies, and ensure proper infection control.
• Facilitate patient flow by scheduling appointments, handling referrals, and coordinating follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate electronic health record entries and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

Required profile

• Current or former employee of the University of Arkansas System, including student or graduate assistants.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
