Material Handler – Warehouse Operations

About the role

The Material Handler will work at 3M's Newark, DE (Dawson Plant) site, supporting production by handling materials, shipping and receiving, and ensuring inventory accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Receive, move, pick, stage, and prepare materials for production and outbound shipments.
• Verify quantities, packaging, labeling, and shipping information.
• Perform shipping and receiving activities and report discrepancies.
• Use SAP, barcode scanners, and inventory systems to track material movement.
• Conduct routine inventory tasks including cycle counts.
• Inspect trailers and equipment for safety compliance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S principles.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least six months experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or material‑handling environment.
• Experience operating powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Basic computer skills for entering and retrieving inventory data.

Required skills

• Forklift operation.
