About the role
The University of Miami’s Department of Informatics and Health Data Science seeks a full‑time Manager, Data Science to support the Department Chair in coordinating data‑science initiatives across research, education, clinical innovation, and venture activities. The role blends advanced analytics, AI, and machine‑learning expertise with strategic project leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the department’s data‑science portfolio, aligning projects with strategic priorities of DIHDS, the MIL, and the Miller School of Medicine.
- Translate scientific and operational questions into defined data‑science projects, analytical plans, technical requirements, and measurable outcomes.
- Develop and maintain scalable data‑science workflows, pipelines, reusable code, dashboards, and reporting systems.
- Coordinate large‑scale NIH, ARPA‑H, and other federally funded proposals, contributing to study design, data strategy, budgets, and technical plans.
- Manage data‑science personnel, consultants, and technical contributors, overseeing budgeting, staffing, and internal controls.
