About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This full‑time position works on a mid‑rise, stabilized community of 269 units in Columbia, South Carolina.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with company policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process to prepare vacant apartments for new tenants, ensuring all units are clean, functional, and ready for lease.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to address after‑hours emergencies.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
• Flexibility to work a standard Monday‑Friday schedule (8 am‑5 pm) and rotate on‑call shifts.
