Maintenance Technician – Avana Matthews Property

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Avana Matthews community in Matthews, NC. The role ensures that the building, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality. You will work on a Monday‑Friday schedule with a rotating on‑call component.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document all service requests and maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret work orders, maintenance manuals and building codes.
• Strong organizational skills to track inventory, schedule vendors and complete documentation.
• Willingness to work a rotating on‑call schedule.
• Commitment to uphold Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and overall property appearance.
