About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a dynamic leader to serve as both Director of the Library and Assistant Professor. This dual role combines strategic oversight of library services with academic responsibilities, supporting the institution’s teaching, research, and community missions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership for library operations, aligning services with academic programs.
• Develop, present, and manage the library budget to achieve strategic goals.
• Coordinate library activities with faculty and academic units, serving on the Academic Council.
• Hire, supervise, and mentor library staff, fostering professional development.
• Set priorities and policies for collection development, public services, and technical services.

Required profile

• Earned master’s degree in Library or Library Information Sciences (doctorate preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in a higher‑education library setting.
• Strong interpersonal and consultative leadership abilities.
• Commitment to collaborative work with faculty, staff, and administration.
