Legal Nurse Consultant – Miami

About the role

The Miami office of Wicker Smith seeks an experienced Legal Nurse Consultant to support attorneys with medical‑legal case management. You will bridge clinical expertise and legal strategy, ensuring accurate, timely analysis of medical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist attorneys and firm management with case‑related tasks as needed.
• Evaluate incoming records, films, and photos for completeness and authenticity.
• Organize medical records chronologically and summarize them for meetings, depositions, and trial.
• Retain qualified expert witnesses and coordinate their involvement.
• Review medical records to assess treatment appropriateness, liability, and causation, contributing to defense strategy.
• Analyze claimant care and status to inform case positioning.

Required profile

• Valid nursing degree.
• Practical experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar clinical setting (e.g., hospitalist, physician assistant).
• Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is advantageous.

Required skills

• Excellent typing proficiency.
• Strong computer and office equipment operation skills.
