Lead Construction Superintendent (NYC DOB Licensed)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Construction Superintendent with an active NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Superintendent License to direct field operations on a large, multi‑phase mixed‑use development in New York City. The role oversees the project from excavation through vertical construction and close‑out, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all on‑site construction activities, from sitework, excavation, and foundation to superstructure, interiors, and turnover.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel while partnering with Project Managers, Engineers, and owners.
• Maintain full compliance with NYC Building Code, DOB regulations, and OSHA safety standards; manage required logs, inspections, and documentation.
• Develop and manage short‑term look‑ahead schedules, drive project milestones, and proactively address delays.
• Oversee complex site logistics, material deliveries, crane operations, and site access in a dense urban environment.
• Interface with city agencies, inspectors, architects, engineers, and community stakeholders.
• Manage punch‑list completion, final inspections, as‑built documentation, and DOB sign‑offs for project close‑out.

Required profile

• Active NYC DOB Construction Superintendent License.
• Minimum 10 + years of construction experience, including 5 + years in a lead superintendent role.
• Proven experience on ground‑up mixed‑use or large‑scale urban developments.
• Strong knowledge of excavation, foundation, and steel/concrete structural systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑phase projects with complex logistics.
