About the role
Cape is looking for an onsite IT Support Specialist to be the friendly first line of IT support for its New York office. You will own the employee IT experience from day‑one onboarding through ongoing support and smooth off‑boarding, while helping shape the physical IT environment as the company scales.
Key responsibilities
- Be the face of IT in the NY office, providing hands‑on help and contributing to the design of new office IT buildouts.
- Own day‑one onboarding at a rapid hiring pace, automating provisioning and reducing setup time.
- Deliver Tier‑1 issue resolution against SLA and improve it using internal AI agents and automation workflows.
- Build and maintain an audit‑ready asset‑management system for laptops, peripherals, and specialty hardware across multiple locations.
- Shape Cape’s physical IT presence by deploying conference‑room AV, visitor systems, and new office technology.
- Evaluate new vendors and tools weekly, handling SSO/SCIM integration, device packaging, and documentation.
Required profile
- 2‑3+ years of IT support experience in a fast‑moving tech environment.
- Hands‑on experience supporting Apple/macOS laptops and comfort with Windows and Linux.
- Familiarity with mobile device management solutions such as Jamf or Iru.
- Experience using a ticketing/helpdesk system (e.g., Jira Service Management) and meeting SLA targets.
- Proven ability to set up and maintain conference‑room hardware and software.
- Basic administration experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Track record managing IT hardware procurement and inventory.
- Strong problem‑solving, customer‑service instincts and clear communication.
- Ability to lift or carry desktop computers up to 25 lb.
