Investigations Team Lead – Atlanta

About the role

Lead the investigations team for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, overseeing daily operations, coaching staff, and ensuring high‑quality investigative work while supporting the State of Georgia’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Guide day‑to‑day activities of the investigations team, providing supervision, coaching and training.
• Prepare schedules, monitor attendance and ensure team productivity and accuracy.
• Build collaboration in a remote environment and train new staff through one‑on‑one sessions and shadowing.
• Supervise investigators, give case guidance, develop resources and tools to fill identified gaps.
• Conduct investigations, review findings, and enter data accurately into multiple databases.
• Maintain positive relationships with providers, stakeholders and other DBHDD divisions.
• Prioritize workload, respond to correspondence promptly and travel statewide as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED plus four years of relevant experience (or two years at the lower‑level Complnc Specialist 2 or equivalent).
• Ability to obtain and maintain required state licensure, certifications and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to complete drug screening, TB evaluation and annual influenza vaccination (with limited exemptions).
• Strong judgment, customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently and as a team member.
