About the role

WSP is seeking a qualified Road Engineer to join its Panama team. The professional will contribute to the design, construction, supervision and maintenance of highways, roads and related works, ensuring compliance with local technical and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop geometric and structural designs for roads and highways.
• Supervise and execute construction and rehabilitation works on site.
• Monitor technical progress, control advances and produce detailed reports.
• Verify that specifications, drawings and standards are fully met.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and government agencies.
• Control material quality, including sub‑base, base, asphalt mixes and concrete.
• Assist in preparing budgets, schedules and quantity take‑offs.
• Manage safety, environmental and occupational health aspects on the job site.
• Identify technical risks and propose corrective solutions.

Required profile

• Civil Engineering degree, licensed engineer.
• 3–5 years of experience in road or highway projects.
• Familiarity with Panama’s Ministry of Public Works (MOP) regulations and technical standards.
• Ability to work in the field and travel throughout the country.
• Strong organizational, teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety and deadline compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D.
• Intermediate or higher level of Microsoft Excel.
