HVAC Mechanic I – 2 Open Positions

About the role

The University of Arkansas is seeking two entry‑level HVAC Mechanic I professionals to join its facilities team in Fayetteville. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems across campus buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment in accordance with university standards.
• Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot system failures, and document service activities.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and facilities staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, and order replacements as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC or related field preferred.
• Ability to work on a variety of mechanical systems in a campus environment.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC components and service procedures.
