Human Resources Officer (UN Department of Operational Support)

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will be based in the Common Administrative Platform at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Reporting to the Chief of Desk 3 and under the overall guidance of the Director of Administration, the incumbent will support the Division of Administration in delivering HR services to client entities.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, coordination and delivery of the HR work programme within OneEO, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Monitor implementation of HR policies, support service‑improvement initiatives and keep abreast of HR developments.
• Oversee recruitment and placement processes, project vacant posts, review candidate selections and support workforce planning.
• Advise client‑entity managers on contract management, benefits, entitlements and provide authoritative HR guidance.
• Provide career‑development and performance‑management advice, including support for the Inspira performance management system.
• Supervise junior HR officers and ensure compliance with classification, salary and budget requirements.
