HR Tech I – Entry Level HR Technician

About the role

Under direct supervision, you will learn to enter and process personnel and payroll transactions for the Department of Juvenile Justice. The position involves compiling employment reports, filing records, and providing information to authorized staff.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and initiate payroll computations, deductions, and enter data into the computer system.
• Complete employment entry processes for new hires and coordinate hiring paperwork.
• Process and issue employee paychecks, statements of earnings, and deductions.
• Manage enrollments and changes to benefit programs and respond to related inquiries.
• Provide information to agency staff and employees on payroll, tax issues, and benefit plans.
• Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least six months of relevant work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certifications may be considered.
