Household Manager & Family Assistant – Iowa

About the role

We are looking for an organized, proactive Household Manager and Family Assistant to support families throughout Iowa. The role combines home organization, light housekeeping, meal support and occasional childcare to keep households running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily home reset: light tidying, kitchen clean‑up and organization of common areas.
• Manage household inventory, restock groceries, pantry staples and supplies.
• Organize closets, playrooms, mudrooms, paperwork and seasonal rotations.
• Coordinate with cleaners, vendors, deliveries and home‑maintenance providers.
• Handle errands such as returns, post office trips, pharmacy pickups and online orders.
• Plan and prep simple, healthy meals; assist with weekly meal planning and grocery shopping.
• Pack snacks or lunches for school‑aged children when needed.
• Support family scheduling, school forms, appointments and travel preparation.
• Provide optional childcare support: school or activity pickups, date‑night assistance and engaging children in crafts or outdoor play.

Required profile

• Organized, dependable and proactive with the ability to anticipate needs.
• Calm under pressure, adaptable to changing priorities.
• Warm, respectful and able to build trust with adults and children.
• Reliable transportation, eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check.
• Maintain a smoke‑free environment and be vaccinated as requested by the family.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Calendar for family scheduling.
• Experience using Amazon ordering platforms for household supplies.
