House Manager & Family Assistant (Meal Prep & Childcare)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive House Manager & Family Assistant to support our busy family of four in Dedham, MA. The role focuses on streamlining mornings, handling meals, childcare, and keeping the home organized so the parents can enjoy quality time with their children.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full morning routine: feed, dress, hair, pack bags and ensure on‑time school drop‑offs.
• Transport children to after‑school activities and coordinate bus schedules.
• Prepare daily school lunches, simple healthy dinners for the kids, and family meals 2 × week.
• Maintain household organization: reset dishes, surfaces, make beds, vacuum high‑traffic areas, and oversee seasonal clothing swaps.
• Walk the family dog, schedule vet/grooming appointments, and handle pet care.
• Run errands such as grocery shopping, donation drop‑offs, and manage household supply orders.
• Assist with laundry, linen rotation, and keep the laundry area tidy.
• Coordinate deep‑cleaning projects, vendor oversight, and vehicle maintenance.

Required profile

• Proactive, self‑directed and exceptionally organized.
• Warm, genuine with kids; able to match a high‑spirited preschooler and respect an older child’s quieter needs.
• Comfortable driving, patient in traffic and able to keep up with an energetic child.
• Trustworthy, respects family privacy and maintains clear communication.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation (family vehicle provided).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start).
• Up‑to‑date vaccinations per AAP and CDC guidelines.
• Comfortable working in a home with a dog and maintaining a smoke‑free environment.
