Head of Design – AI‑Driven Social Discovery

About the role

Social Discovery Group is looking for a visionary Head of Design to shape the end‑to‑end user experience of its AI‑powered social discovery products. You will lead a small, remote design team and collaborate across product, analytics, marketing, and engineering to deliver compelling, data‑driven experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full product journey—from ad creative and landing pages to onboarding, avatar selection, chat, media generation, and retention loops—ensuring a consistent experience.
• Drive conversion, retention and LTV by forming hypotheses, prioritising experiments and validating designs through A/B testing.
• Define and evolve a unified design system covering UI, UX patterns, character visuals, animation and UX copy.
• Lead and mentor a team of two product designers, a UX writer and a researcher; establish processes and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Translate research, user interviews and support insights into roadmap initiatives aligned with business goals.

Required profile

• 3+ years leading a design team of three or more on B2C daily‑use products (AI companions, social, dating, health, edtech, messengers) with 2M+ MAU or $50M+ revenue.
• Demonstrated measurable impact on product metrics (conversion, retention, LTV) with clear before/after results.
• Strong product design expertise in UX, UI, user flows, information architecture and prototyping.
• Proven experience working cross‑functionally with product and analytics teams using data‑driven frameworks (e.g., RICE).
• Excellent visual eye, analytical mindset and fluent English communication.
