About the role
The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a Graduate Assistant in the Division of Music to support its Jazz Studies program. This 12‑month, fixed‑term appointment is designed for a student completing a one‑year master’s degree in jazz studies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct and lead musical ensembles as required.
- Teach methods courses and provide applied lessons to students.
- Assist with curriculum delivery and other duties assigned by the Division of Music.
- Participate as a performer in various ensembles when needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Music degree or at least 18 credit hours in performance, education, or jazz.
- Admission to the Graduate School at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (or equivalent).
- Competency on at least one of the listed instruments, as determined by faculty.
- Eligibility to enroll in graduate coursework prior to starting the assistantship.
