General Manager – Poultry Operations

About the role

The General Manager will be the senior leader responsible for the operational, financial, and asset performance of an 11‑site poultry operation in Nebraska. Reporting to Executive Leadership, this role oversees both Production and Repair & Maintenance functions to ensure consistent, high‑quality output and long‑term asset sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead performance of 11 sites, ensuring production consistency, animal welfare, operational continuity, and cost control.
• Develop and hold accountable the Director of Poultry Production and the Director of Repair & Maintenance on key performance indicators.
• Coordinate production and maintenance activities to maximize hatchery throughput and minimize downtime.
• Oversee facility performance, maintenance strategy, and infrastructure reliability across all locations.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and ensure effective use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Set and monitor maintenance KPIs, as well as vendor and subcontractor performance.
• Manage the full P&L, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control for production and maintenance.
• Balance maintenance investment with asset performance and long‑term ROI.
• Build and sustain a high‑performance culture among production managers, growers, and repair & maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Senior leader with extensive experience in poultry or agribusiness operations.
• Proven responsibility for P&L and multi‑site management.
• Strong people‑leadership skills and ability to develop senior managers.
• Experience planning and executing capital investment projects.
• Knowledge of asset reliability and maintenance best practices.

• Base salary of $180,000‑$190,000 (DOE) plus a $40,000 performance bonus.
