French Instructor – Part‑time Adjunct (Online)

About the role

Kern Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for its part‑time adjunct pool to teach French courses online. This position offers flexible, hourly work for instructors who can deliver elementary and intermediate French instruction to a diverse community college student body.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instruction for a full range of French courses, including elementary and intermediate levels.
• Teach classes that may be scheduled during day, evening, or weekend times and may include large or distance‑learning formats.
• Participate in student recruitment and articulation activities.
• Maintain current subject‑matter expertise and contribute to curriculum development and revision.
• Utilize computer and multimedia technology to enhance learning and assess student outcomes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in French, or a Bachelor’s in French combined with a Master’s in another language or linguistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community‑college students.
• Degrees must be from accredited institutions; foreign degrees require evaluation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer and multimedia technology for instructional delivery.
