Fleet Specialist – Day Shift

About the role

Waabi is seeking a Fleet Specialist to operate its autonomous truck fleet on the day shift at the Lancaster, TX terminal. You will prepare vehicles, launch missions, monitor system performance, and turn on‑road observations into actionable data for engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle systems for manual and autonomous missions, including firmware verification and mission container configuration.
• Launch, hold, and end missions using the Waabi App, Jira, and Linux terminal, and ensure mission data is offloaded.
• Monitor vehicle and autonomy status from the front seat, relay system state to the Vehicle Operator, and call for disengagement when safety requires.
• Annotate on‑road events, categorize disengagements, and track mission performance metrics.
• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip documentation, photograph sensors, and manage data drives.
• Perform periodic calibration and static validation, verify Operational Design Domain compliance, and act as spotter for backing maneuvers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior logistics, technical support, or vehicle testing experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures under time pressure, and excellent written communication.
• Willingness to work flexible day‑shift hours, including extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel.
• Physical ability to inspect, photograph, and climb on Class 8 tractors and trailers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Linux command line and container log analysis.
• Experience using Jira and Slack for task tracking and communication.
• Ability to handle data drives, sensor inspection, and calibration procedures.
• Basic computer literacy and quick learning of proprietary fleet and inspection tools.
