Fiscal Support Specialist

About the role

The Fiscal Support Specialist provides essential fiscal and administrative support to the College of Technology-McGehee at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. This position ensures accurate financial operations in line with GAAP, state and federal regulations, and university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, and audit financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper coding.
• Enter invoices, payments, and receipts into automated tracking, reporting, and general‑ledger systems.
• Process and record payments, verify transactions, and ensure correct fund distribution and deposits.
• Maintain both manual and electronic fiscal records, guaranteeing organized filing and easy retrieval.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and assist with budget monitoring as needed.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established accounting procedures.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant state/federal regulations.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with department staff and external vendors.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment.
