Field Service Specialist – Industrial Automation

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Automation Field Service Specialist to join our Automation & Factory Solutions division. In this role you will combine hands‑on technical work with customer interaction, supporting manufacturers across Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage expertise in PLCs, motion‑control systems and robotics to resolve customers’ automation challenges.
• Manage end‑to‑end service projects, including proposal writing, implementation and post‑project follow‑up.
• Provide on‑site service up to 70% travel, performing mechanical installations and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Develop detailed service proposals and oversee project lifecycles from inception to completion.
• Identify new sales opportunities and generate leads for cross‑divisional collaboration.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree (strongly preferred) and 2+ years of relevant field experience.
• Strong background in PLC programming and related automation technologies.
• Proven mechanical aptitude with ability to install and troubleshoot complex equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and outstanding customer‑service skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
