Facilities Engineering Technician I – Evening Shift

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Facilities Engineering Technician I for the evening shift to support the manufacturing team in Houston, Texas. The role focuses on maintaining facility infrastructure and critical utility systems that enable production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair machines and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including evaluation, modification, and documentation of PMs.
• Support facilities group activities such as shutdowns, capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and PIT teams.
• Document work accurately in Maximo and on test scripts/protocols in accordance with company and regulatory policies.
• Communicate effectively with production personnel, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and cGMP requirements.
• Operate and maintain critical utilities including DI/purified water, clean compressed air, boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
• On‑site availability for a Thursday‑Monday schedule, 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
• Travel requirement of 0‑10%.
