Electro‑Mechanical Technician – 3rd Shift (Night)

About the role

The Electro‑Mechanical Technician works the 3rd shift in Nestlé’s Solon production plant, maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment to keep the line running smoothly. The role combines mechanical, electrical and automation tasks, supports preventive maintenance programs and trains operators on technical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair production equipment, including pneumatics, hydraulics, chain/belt drives, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves and fasteners.
• Maintain electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, AC/DC motors, transformers, VFDs and PLC‑controlled devices, following LOTO and safety permits.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, record work in SAP and suggest improvements or spare‑part optimizations.
• Provide technical training to operators and collaborate with the team to meet safety, quality and cost targets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; a two‑year technical degree in industrial or electromechanical maintenance is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food production, with exposure to industrial electrical/controls.

Required skills

• Pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical fabrication and rigging.
• Industrial electrical systems, AC/DC motors, transformers, VFDs and low‑/medium‑voltage safety.
• Basic PLC logic interpretation and ladder‑logic reading.
• Use of diagnostic instruments, mechanical/electrical tools and CMMS (SAP) for work orders.
