Electrical Maintenance/Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Maintenance/Reliability Engineer will join BASF's Automation, Controls and Electrical team within the North American Technical Expertise department. The role focuses on delivering engineering design, maintenance and reliability solutions across multiple manufacturing sites, supporting both new capital projects and existing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design, maintenance and reliability activities for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Provide technical support for site initiatives, including power system studies and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with discipline engineers, project managers, plant operations and maintenance personnel to develop cost‑effective solutions.
• Review design documentation and ensure integration with manufacturing systems.
• Offer guidance to less‑experienced I&E engineers and third‑party designers.
• Participate in internal committees such as the Electrical Safe Working Group and ad‑hoc assignments representing the discipline.

Required profile

• Electrical engineering background with experience in maintenance and reliability.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and work across cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of safety and explosion‑protection requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills for power system studies and design reviews.
