Economic Stability Area Director – Lake Charles Region

About the role

The Louisiana Department of Health seeks a dynamic leader to direct Economic Stability services across the Lake Charles Region. This senior position guides program delivery, workforce strategy, and performance monitoring to improve outcomes for families and align with the agency’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily administrative, operational, and service delivery activities for Economic Stability programs in the region.
• Analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement improvements to meet established goals.
• Develop and monitor regional strategies, goals, and objectives that support agency priorities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to program managers, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Evaluate operations and quality assurance measures, recommending solutions to enhance performance and customer service.
• Lead workforce management, including recruitment, hiring, promotion, training, coaching, and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Minimum three years supervisory experience in Child Support Enforcement, Child Welfare, or Economic Stability programs.
• Either nine years of social‑services experience, or six years full‑time experience plus six years social‑services experience, or a bachelor’s degree with six years social‑services experience, or an advanced degree with five years social‑services experience.
• Experience substitution allowed: 30 semester hours = one year of experience, up to 120 semester hours.
