Driver/Fabrication Technician

About the role

McCarty Equipment, a SunSource company, is seeking a Driver/Fabrication Technician to operate a company vehicle for product deliveries and to support a variety of shop functions. The role blends driving duties with hands‑on fabrication and warehouse tasks in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist warehouse employees in preparing items for delivery, including packing and sorting by route.
• Perform cycle counts, tag, stack, and organize inventory while maintaining a clean shop environment.
• Deliver products to customer facilities, unload using appropriate tools, obtain signatures, and return items to the branch.
• Operate equipment such as soft gasket press, circle cutter, allpax cutter, shears, and punch press to fabricate gaskets.
• Support hose operations including banding, crimping, cutting, rolling, and testing hydraulic hoses.
• Assist the mechanical seal department with disassembly, cleaning, bead‑blasting, and packaging of components.
• Participate in shipping activities: pack, receive, build crates, and load/unload trucks.
• Operate a forklift after certification and use a tape measure for measurements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferably 1 year of industrial shop experience.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (certified).
• Use of soft gasket press, circle cutter, allpax cutter, shears, and punch press.
• Hose banding, crimping, cutting, rolling, and testing.
• Mechanical seal disassembly, cleaning, and bead‑blasting.
• Tape measure usage and basic measurement skills.
• Basic computer skills.
