Director of Sport Operations and Championships

About the role

The Director of Sport Operations and Championships leads the planning, execution, and oversight of all NJCAA championship events and sport operations, reporting to the Vice President for Championships, Membership, and Sports Governance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all Sport Operations and Championship staff, ensuring professional representation of the NJCAA.
• Determine sport assignments and oversee poll calls, seeding, at‑large selections, social media posts, Player of the Week, host calls, All‑American selections, and related tasks.
• Represent the National Office with third‑party organizations and at national conventions to market NJCAA championships.
• Manage the championship bid process, site‑visit procedures, and evaluation of current and future championship sites.
• Coordinate all aspects of national championship planning, execution, manuals, and host resources.
• Analyze post‑championship feedback and host financial reporting to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with external vendors for awards, merchandise, credentials, signage, and other championship support.
• Oversee website content, stats, and streaming coordination with Marketing, Multimedia, and streaming partners.
• Facilitate input from sport committee chairs and organize promotion with Marketing & Multimedia divisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (4‑year degree) required.
• Experience in sport operations, event management, and championship planning.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to represent the NJCAA nationally.
